FAQ
Q: Why this date and location?
A: In addition to the recent and historic visibility and symbolism of the North Lawn at the National WWI Museum and Memorial, the first major outdoor Eucharistic Adoration event in Kansas City occurred at the Liberty Memorial on May 4, 1941. As the National Eucharistic Revival closes out its Parish Year in 2024, join our Catholic community from Kansas and Missouri as we come together for a historic Eucharistic celebration that recreates the first special gathering from 80+ years ago AND beholds the true presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Q: Is registration required?
A: While this is a free event, we strongly recommend registering for the event in advance so that we can communicate event updates, special event announcements and can plan accordingly for the number of attendees we will be hosting.
Q: What can/can’t we bring?
A: Please plan to bring your own seating (camp chairs, blankets, and other outdoor seating is welcome). We will have limited accessible seating available but remember this is an outdoor venue with some challenging topography and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. Guests may also bring a small meal/picnic including non-alcoholic beverages and water in a cooler or picnic basket.
Please do not bring tents, tables, grills or alcohol. All bags and persons may be subject to a security screening. Please leave all pets at home. If you plan to attend and have a service animal, please email us at beholdkc@gmail.com to ask about our service animal policy.
Q: Can we bring food?
A: Food trucks will be located on the south side of the National WWI Museum and Memorial for guests who are looking to purchase food on-site. These trucks will serve from 4-6 pm to observe the one hour fast prior to receiving Holy Communion, then will reopen after Mass and serve until the event ends. Guests may also pack a small meal/picnic if they want to bring in food, water or other non-alcoholic beverages. Cooler / picnic baskets will not be limited in size but we do ask that you respect your fellow attendees. Coolers with sound amplification will not be permitted. Wheeled coolers and soft-sided coolers are allowed. All bags and persons may be subject to a security screening.
Q: Where do we park?
A: There are a number of parking options for this event. A grass lot on the east side of the National WWI Museum and Memorial will be available for public parking. While this location will offer free parking, it is first-come, first-served. Paid Public Parking lots may also be available at Union Station, across the street from the event venue. Limited accessible parking will be available on the U-shaped drive on the south side of the National WWI Museum and Memorial. Group and bus parking options will be available. Please reach out to us at BeholdKC@gmail.com for more information on bus/group parking.
The KC Streetcar is also a great park and ride option as it will bring attendees to the East side of Union Station with an easy walk across Pershing to get to the North Lawn.

Q: Can we come and go throughout the event?
A: Our intention is for our guests to arrive in time to go to Confession, enjoy our local choirs, prepare your hearts for Mass, participate in the Rosary at 6 p.m., celebrate Mass at 6:30 p.m., stay for Eucharistic Adoration at 8 p.m. and our closing musical act at 9 p.m. Steve Angrisano will provide the music during Eucharistic Adoration and close us out with a performance ending at 9:30 p.m.
Q: How are you keeping us safe?
A: We are planning for a comprehensive security presence that will include limited access areas, private security and KCPD. A medical tent will also be present on site for urgent medical needs.
Q: What happens if it rains or there is severe weather?
A: The event will go on rain or shine. We have a contingency plan for any predicted severe weather and will communicate with registrants via email if it becomes necessary to cancel the event.
